Jarrett Schweim joined the Gators baseball program in the summer of 2019 after spending five years at UCF. It is his third stint at Florida, having worked with the football team for three years and attending undergrad at UF.
With Schweim overseeing all sports medicine for UF baseball, the Gators are coming off two-straight seasons (2023-24) without having a weekend starting pitcher miss an appearance due to injury. In 2023 in particular, Florida had the only rotation in NCAA Division I to go the entire season without a single starter to miss a start, as the trio of Brandon Sproat, Hurston Waldrep and Jac Caglianone all posted 18 or more times.Â
Â
At UCF, Schweim served as the primary athletic trainer for the men's basketball and men's golf team. Prior to his time in Orlando, he spent one year as an Associate Athletic Trainer at the University of Georgia. While with the Bulldogs, he worked exclusively with the men's basketball program.
Â
Schweim spent three years on the Gators’ athletic training staff from 2011-13 working directly with the Florida football team. Prior to his most recent time at Florida, he served three years -- the first two as a Graduate Assistant and the latter as a full-time Assistant Trainer in the athletics program at Ohio State University. He worked primarily with the Buckeyes' football and men's tennis teams.
Â
A native of St. Augustine, Fla., Schweim is a 2006 graduate of the University of Florida, with a degree in Athletic Training. He earned his Master's degree in Allied Health Management from Ohio State in 2009.
Â
Upon graduating from Florida, Schweim served a one-year internship as an Intern Athletic Trainer with the Gators' men's basketball team. During that time he worked with UCF Head Men's Basketball Coach Donnie Jones, who was then an assistant coach at Florida, and the Gators went on to win the NCAA championship.
Â
Schweim and his wife, Emily, have one six-year-old son, Jack.
