- Making his first start of the season, Payne turned in nine points, nine rebounds and five blocked shots in the Gators’ 26-point rout of sixth-ranked Tennessee.

2019-20, Freshman Season
- Averaged 3.8 points and 3.7 rebounds in 30 games with seven starts during his freshman campaign.
- Posted a double-double in the win vs. No. 4 Auburn with 19 points and 11 rebounds. Payne shot 9-for-9 from the field in the win, joining teammate Andrew Nembhard as the only SEC players since 2000 to shoot 1.000 with nine-plus field goals in a conference game.
- Earned his first career start vs. Long Beach State and responded with 11 points and nine boards.
- Had nine rebounds in 12 minutes at South Carolina, providing valuable minutes off the bench.
- Grabbed nine rebounds in the win vs. Saint Joseph’s.
Prep
- Helped Montverde to a 22-3 record and a semifinal appearance in the GEICO Nationals.
- Prior to enrolling at Montverde, Payne played at Oscecloa and helped the team to the 2017 Class 9A state championship and a 28-2 record.
- Payne had a double-double with 10 points and 10 blocked shots in the 2017 state semifinals.
