Biography

 

CAREER: Transfer from Southern Illinois who joined the team as a walk-on in the spring of 2008… Played 18 career games at Florida and secured one start his senior season in 2009 versus Tennessee… Had one career kick return for eight yards against Mississippi State during the 2009 campaign.

2009: A 2009 SEC Fall Academic Honor Roll selection with a 3.51 cumulative GPA… Played in all 14 games for the Gators, including the 2009 SEC Championship and the 2010 Allstate Sugar Bowl, and recorded his first career start at UF versus Tennessee… Contributed not only at fullback, but also as a member of special teams, including UF’s goal-line package… Played a key role in UF’s goal-line package that allowed Tim Tebow to score on a quarterback keeper at South Carolina to tie the SEC record of 53 career touchdowns… Followed through on a key block in UF’s 27-3 win over Vanderbilt that allowed sophomore Jeff Demps to score on a 25-yard run in the second quarter… Played a key role on special teams and in goal-line situations in UF’s 29-19 win over Mississippi State on the road… Had an eight-yard kickoff return, the first of his career, against the Bulldogs… Made the first start of his career at fullback in Florida’s 23-13 win over Tennessee in the SEC opener at home.

 

2008: Saw action at fullback in four of the Gators’ games, including match ups against Hawaii, Miami, Arkansas and Kentucky, and dressed for 11 of UF’s 14 games, but did not record any statistics.

2007 (At Southern Illinois): Gained 142 yards on 14 receptions, averaging 10.1 yards per reception...Scored four touchdowns, three receiving and one rushing, as a sophomore… Collected a career-high 39 yards on two receptions in the Salukis’ victory over Southern Utah.

2006 (At Southern Illinois): Garnered a share of SIU's Freshman of the Year award...Versatile athlete who played fullback, wide receiver and on special teams...In 13 games and one start, he had two carries for 46 yards, eight catches for 63 yards and one touchdown, and returned three kicks for 46 yards...Ranked third on the team in kickoff return yardage...Hauled in a six-yard pass for his first career TD against Lock Haven...Caught a pass in each of his last four games of the season...Made first career start against Western Illinois.

PREP: Three-year starter who recorded 122 tackles, 48 tackles for loss and eight sacks as a senior...Played in the Outback Bowl -- Palm Beach County All-Star Game and FACA North-South Florida All-Star Game... Honorable mention all-state as a senior... First-team all-area and all-conference as a junior and senior.

PERSONAL: Was born on May 5, 1988, in Lansing, Mich… Parents are Curtis Disque and Theresa Burgess-Disque.
