Karmichael Dunbar II enters his second season as an assistant on the Gators strength and conditioning staff after being hired prior to the 2022 season.
A native of Opelousas, La., he joined the Gators after spending three seasons (2019-21) in his same role at Louisiana.
Prior to Louisiana, Dunbar II spent the 2018 season at Tennessee, where he served as a defensive graduate assistant.
Dunbar II started his career at the University of Alabama in 2017 as an intern, assisting in the development of that year’s national championship team.
A graduate of the University of Louisiana, Dunbar II was a defensive lineman with the Ragin’ Cajuns from 2012-16. He appeared in 37 games during his time in Lafayette, tallying 65 total tackles, 8.0 tackles for loss, 2.0 sacks and two fumble recoveries in his career.
Dunbar II is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA), and is a certified coach by USA Weightlifting, the national governing body for weightlifting in the United States.
