Overview
- Scored 448 points (6.4 avg.) and grabbed 252 rebounds (3.6 avg.) in 70 games with 47 starts over his career.
- Grew himself into a full-time starter as a senior, developing from primarily a hustle player into one of UF’s most reliable long-range shooters with the capability of having a big night.
- Led the Gators in 3-point percentage both seasons with the team, shooting .373 as a junior and .398 as a senior.
- Has a high motor and great athleticism, regularly praised by head coach Mike White for his consistency in effort.
- Received only one JuCo offer out of high school, but became a junior college All-American and enrolled at UF for the Fall 2015 semester.
2016-17, Senior Season
- Started all 36 games and posted 7.4 points and 3.6 rebounds per game and a team-leading .398 3-point field goal percentage.
- Scored a career-high 19 points in the win vs. Tennessee, going 5-for-6 from the floor, 3-for-4 from 3-point range and making all six free throws.
- Hit a career-best four 3-pointers and scored 18 in the win vs. Texas A&M.
- Had seven games with at least three made 3-pointers.
- Averaged 10.5 points and 7.0 rebounds in the NCAA Tournament, grabbing 10 rebounds vs. Virginia and scoring 18 in the Elite Eight vs. South Carolina.
2015-16, Junior Season
- Moved into the starting lineup at the beginning of SEC play due to his max-effort style of play, ultimately starting 11 games.
- Posted seven double-figure scoring games, including each of the final two games of the season.
- Shot 16-for-28 from 3-point range over the Gators’ first 12 SEC games before suffering a shooting slump, but bounced back to shoot 6-for-10 beyond the arc in NIT action.
- Had a monster game against LSU, scoring 14 points and grabbing a team-high nine rebounds. Leon also spent most of the game guarding Ben Simmons, helping goad Simmons into eight second-half turnovers including a pair of charging fouls drawn by Leon, who drew three charges total in the game.
- Set a new scoring career high in three straight games: 11 at Tennessee, 14 vs. LSU, then 16 at Texas A&M.
2014-15, Sophomore Season (Shawnee)
- A 2015 junior college All-American, averaging 21.5 points and 10.0 rebounds while shooting .504 from the field.
- One of four players in Division I NJCAA to rank in the top 20 in points (16th) and rebounds (20th) last season, Leon recorded 16 double-doubles.
- Scored a season-high 31 points twice, reached 20+ points 20 times and scored double figures in every game, also posting a season best of 19 rebounds.
2013-14, Freshman Season (Shawnee)
- Scored 15.3 points and grabbed 6.3 rebounds while shooting .563 from the field as a freshman, posting nine 20+ scoring games.
