Gillooly’s Coaching Career:
At Florida:
During the 2023-24, Gillooly guided his divers to be important contributors to both the men’s and women’s team, playing an integral role in the program’s regular season and postseason success. Five Gator divers scored 226 of Florida’s total points at the 2024 SEC Championships. One diver advanced to the championship final in all six events, while 11 top-16 finishes were recorded.

Freshman Camyla Monroy was crowned the 2024 SEC platform champion to earn Florida’s first title since 2011. Additionally, she claimed two silver medals in the 1-meter and 3-meter events. On the men’s side freshman Conor Gesing earned his first SEC gold medal to bring home Florida’s first 3-meter title since 1985, while also earning bronze in the 1-meter. Six divers advanced to 2024 NCAA Championships; Camyla Monroy, Carina Lumia, Peyton Donald, Skip Donald, Conor Gesing and Anton Svirskyi. Four earned All-American honors after advancing to a Championship or Consolation Final.

During the 2022-23 season, Gilooly had two divers earn All-American honors for their NCAA Championships. Maha Amer and Leo Garcia earned All-American honors - Amer earned 1-meter second-team, while Leo tallied two honors on platform and 1-meter second team. Amer was named the 2023 SEC Female Diver of the year and claimed silver in the 1-meter at the 2023 SEC Championships. On the men’s side, Leo took home bronze in platform to earn Florida’s first diving men’s diving medal of the meet.
Ashley McCool earned Diver of the Meet during the 2021 SEC Championships, winning the 1-meter and earning bronze in the 3-meter under Gillooly. Anton Svirskyi placed seventh in the platform while Leonardo Garcia finished eighth at SEC’s. Florida sent three divers (Leonardo Garcia, Ashley McCool, Elizabeth Perez) to the NCAA Championships after qualifying at the NCAA Diving Zones during the 2020-21 campaign under Gillooly. Garica recorded ninth place overall in the 3-meter, while McCool finished second in the B-final, 10th overall, in the 1-meter, and Perez was 29th during the prelims.

In her first season under the tutelage of Gillooly, McCool earned an automatic bid to the NCAA Championships and a pair of All-America honors for her performance at the NCAA Diving Zone meet. During the 2019-2020 season, Florida’s women’s diving accumulated the most points of any team at the 2020 SEC Championships. Four divers- Elizabeth Perez, Emma Whitner, McCool and Brooke Madden- registered 228 points, way ahead of their closest competitor, Auburn, with 142 points. Throughout the 2019-20 regular season, Gillooly’s divers would post 23 event wins. The women were led by McCool’s 11 wins, while the men were led by Alex Farrow’s four-win senior campaign.

In 2018-19, Gillooly guided Brooke Madden reach her third-consecutive NCAA Championship, earning her third All-American honor with a seventh-place in the 1-meter in his third season at the helm of the diving duties at UF.

In Gillooly’s first year as Diving Coach, he tutored eight athletes into SEC Championship competition. Two of those athletes, Samuel Smith and Teya Syskakis, tallied top-eight finishes. Smith garnered two top-eight finishes, placing fourth in the Men’s 3-meter (440.20) and sixth in Men’s Platform (390.90). Syskakis finished in sixth place in the Women’s Platform with a score of 264.55. Smith, Syskakis, Madden, Goss and Dylan Power each found their way into a final at the NCAA Diving Zone meets.
