AS A SENIOR (1986) – Set then-NCAA Southeast Regional balance beam record of 9.75…NCAA Southeast Regional all-around runner-up (37.85)…finished career with 12 NCAA Southeast Region event titles…fifth in the Southeastern Conference all-around competition to earn a spot on the All-SEC team for fourth consecutive season…SEC beam champion (9.60)…set Gator season-high all-around total of 38.20 vs. Penn State…member of SEC Academic Honor Roll.
AS A JUNIOR (1985) - Finished third in the all-around and fifth in the floor exercise at the NCAA Championships to earn All-America honors in both events…earned spot All-SEC squad, finishing second in the floor exercise, fourth in the vault and fourth all-around at the league championships…led the Gators to their second consecutive NCAA Southeast Regional crown, winning her third consecutive regional all-around title…won the balance beam event and tied for first place in both the bars and floor competition with teammates Tammy Smith and Maria Anz, respectively, at the 1985 NCAA Southeast Region meet…member of SEC Academic Honor Roll.
AS A SOPHOMORE (1984) - Finished fifth the all-around and runner-up to teammate Maria Anz in the floor exercise final at the NCAA Championships…earned All-America honors for both events…captured all four individual events to clinch the all-around title at the ’84 NCAA Regional meet… member of SEC Academic Honor Roll…CoSIDA/Academic All-America At-Large third team selection.
AS A FRESHMAN (1983) – SEC all-around (37.35) and balance beam (18.80) champion…also was third in the SEC vault (18.825), second on bars (18.75) and third on floor (18.55)…claimed all-around (38.30), beam (9.65) titles at NCAA Regional – also second on both bars (9.65) and floor (9.50)…earned two All-American honors at the NCAA Championships after taking fifth in the all-around (36.65) and tying for fifth in floor (9.35).
PRIOR TO FLORIDA - Member of the 1980 Canadian Olympic team and an alternate on Canada’s 1984 Olympic squad…a four-time competitor in the World Championships…selected to represent Canada at the 1983 and ’85 World University Games and the 1982 Chunichi Cup…won the vaulting competition at the 1981 New Zealand Games and was a silver medalist in the beam competition at the ’81 Ennia Gold Cup…won a bronze medal in the vaulting competition at the 1980 World Cup…finished second in both the uneven bars and vault events for a third-place all-around finish at the 1979 Pan-American Games…1978 Canadian National Champion.
PERSONNEL - Graduated from Silverthorn High School…received bachelor’s degree in telecommunications from UF in 1986…NBC gymnastics commentator at the 1988, ’92, ’96, '00, '04, '08 Summer Olympic Games…inducted into the University of Florida Hall of Fame in 1997
