John Roman

John Roman is in his fifth season as Florida’s volunteer coach this fall and will coach the Gators’ quartet of goalkeepers.

Before joining the Gators in January of 2016, Roman enrolled in the University of Florida’s graduate school to study performance psychology. He received his Master’s degree in 2017, and is currently pursuing a doctorate through the University of Florida’s Performance Psychology Laboratory.

Roman coached the goalkeepers at Fairfax High School in Northern Virginia before relocating to Florida. During that time, he also worked as a research analyst specializing in big data and analytics in the Washington, D.C. area.
 
In addition to his studies and coaching responsibilities, Roman runs a consulting practice that improves business executive and professional athlete performance during stress.

John Roman is also a proud Elon Phoenix, avid TK Little, and connoisseur of chocolate cake.
