Tiffany Thompson

  • Title
    Assistant Soccer Coach - 1995-98
Tiffany Thompson, 24, is now in her fourth season as a Gator assistant. As a member of the Florida staff, Thompson works primarily with the team's defenders and midfielders, while also coordinating team travel and assisting in recruiting, workout planning and opponent scouting.

Before arriving in Gainesville, Thompson was a standout on the Notre Dame soccer team.  She led the Irish to an overall four-year record of 70-11-5 from 1991-94.  During Thompson’s senior season, the Irish compiled an overall 21-1-1 record, in addition to ending North Carolina's heralded winning streak of 92 consecutive games. Notre Dame also earned the program’s then-best final regular season No. 1 rankings (ISAA coaches' and Soccer America polls) during Thompson's senior season.
Thompson, a four-year starter at midfield, was a three-time Midwestern Collegiate Conference selection. As a senior co-captain,  Thompson's Notre Dame teammates voted her the Most Valuable Player after she scored a career-high 14 goals, including four game-winners, while starting all 23 games and helping the Irish advance to the national championship match in Portland, Ore.

Thompson, who never missed a start in her collegiate career, still ranks third on Notre Dame's all-time games played list (86). She also ranks fifth on the Irish's all-time assists chart (37), tied for seventh in career goals (27), and sixth in career points (91).

Before arriving in South Bend, Thompson was a National Soccer Coaches Association All-American at Cypress Creek High School in Houston, Texas. She was a three-time member of both the U-19 All-Region III team and the U-19 South Texas state team (1989-1991). Thompson also won the Army Reserve National Scholar-Athlete Award as a senior and was MVP of the U-19 Miami Junior Orange Bowl Tournament in 1990.

Thompson graduated from Notre Dame's College of Science in May of 1995 with a degree in biology.
