Gators will next compete at the Olympic Trials on July 7th
EUGENE, Ore. – Three current Gators and Gator alums competed on day four of the United States Track and Field Olympic Trials, including women's triple jumper Ciarra Brewer, who advanced to Thursday's (July 7) final.
Brewer, the 2015 NCAA Indoor national champion and 2014 USATF Outdoor Championships silver medalist, topped her outdoor personal record with a wind-legal 13.99-meter jump on her opening attempt. The mark held up for fourth place, easily making her one of the 12 qualifiers for the final.
Rising junior Darrielle McQueen posted a top mark of 13.22 meters to take 19th place.
In the qualifying round of the men's 3,000-meter steeplechase, Mark Parrish, a four-time All-American who exhausted his collegiate eligibility in 2015, clocked a time of 8:43.28 to finish 18th overall.

QUOTES FROM THE GATORS
Ciarra Brewer on qualifying for the Olympic Trials triple jump final…
"I am so excited. I've just been telling myself God's timing is always perfect. Just for my first jump to finally be fair—I've been just battling and trying to make sure I'm on the board. At practice, it's been a struggle, but I finally was able to put it out there and I'm excited to see what happens Thursday."
Brewer on setting a new outdoor personal record on such a big stage…
"It feels great because this season (I've) been struggling to produce big jumps, and I was getting a little discouraged. Just being able to jump where it counts really excites me. I'm thankful, and I'm so excited."
Brewer on whether or not she needs to make any adjustments heading into the final…
"I just need to execute my run and trust and believe what I know how to do, not stress over what is at stake. Just believe and trust my training, and everything will turn out the way it's supposed to."
