Hammons has been named a 2016 first-team All-American by three different organizations
GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- Future Florida volleyball player Paige Hammons was named FloVolleyball Girls' High School National Player of the Year and to its All-America First Team, the website announced earlier this week.
According to the article, Hammons, who earned Miss Kentucky Volleyball honors last year, tallied "more than 600 kills and 300 digs in her senior season." The article went on to say Hammons is "considered one of the top 10 recruits in the country."
This is the third All-America honor from this past season for Hammons, who was also named to the Under Armour High School All-America First Team in November, as well as a MaxPreps first-team All-American in December.
Hammons signed her National Letter of Intent with the Gators on Nov. 9, and is the program's only incoming freshman for the 2017 campaign.
"With only one senior on our roster, it was important for us to sign the one perfect fit," head coach Mary Wise said. "We are very fortunate Paige Hammons chose UF. She is one of the best six-rotation hitters in the country, and knows how to win. Her talents and competitive play will help us immediately."
Below is a breakdown of Hammons' prep achievements, both on and off the court.
