
Next Step: The NFL Scouting Combine for Eight Gators

Florida has had 224 players invited to the NFL Combine, which is the most in the SEC.
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The University of Florida football will be well-represented, once again, at the NFL Scouting Combine this week as eight players received official invites.
The begins tomorrow and will run through March 6 at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis.

- 3 - 5 p.m. — Offensive Linemen available to media
- Friday, March 3
- 9 a.m. — On-field workouts for Running Backs, Offensive Linemen, Special Teams
- Saturday, March 4
- 2 p.m. - 4 p.m. — Defensive Linemen available to media

- 4 - 5 p.m. — Linebackers available to media
- 2 p.m. - 4 p.m. — Defensive Linemen available to media

Florida has now had 16 players invited to the NFL Scouting Combine in head coach Jim McElwain's first two seasons as coach. Overall, the Gators have had 224 players invited to the combine, which is the top number in the SEC and the second-most in the country.

The NFL Combine consists of more than 300 players being put through a series of drills, tests and interviews while more than 600 NFL personnel in attendance (including coaching staffs, executives, player personnel and medical staffs) look on and evaluate each of them. It amounts to a major job interview for these athletes to participate in ahead of the 2017 NFL Draft on April 27-29.

The eight Gators off the 2016 team with invites include the following:
LB Alex Anzalone (6-3, 241)
- 2016: Declared for the NFL Draft after his redshirt junior season… Started Florida's first eight games before suffering a broken forearm at Arkansas that would end his season… Ranked third on the team with 53 tackles… Led the Gators in tackles against Kentucky (6), Tennessee (12) and Missouri (8)… Tallied three sacks, six quarterback hurries, two pass breakups and one fumble recovery… Named to SEC Academic Honor Roll.
- 2015: Appeared in and started the first two games before suffering a shoulder injury that sidelined him for the rest of the season...Registered six tackles, including a career-high five tackles against New Mexico State...Named to SEC Academic Honor Roll.
- 2014: Played in all 12 games, seeing action as a backup linebacker and starter on special teams...Totaled 14 tackles with one tackle-for-loss...Had a career-high four tackles against South Carolina...Earned the team's Chris Patrick Courage Award...Named to the SEC Academic Honor Roll.
- 2013: Battled through several injuries as a true freshman to see action in 10 games on special teams and at linebacker...Totaled two tackles on the season.

DL Caleb Brantley (6-2, 297)
- 2016: Declared for the NFL Draft after his redshirt junior season… Selected to the All-SEC Second Team by the leagues' coaches, AP, Athlon Sports, Gridiron Now and Pro Football Focus… Appeared in all 13 games and started 11 at defensive tackle… Finished with 31 total tackles and led the team with 9.5 tackles-for-loss and 2.5 sacks… Also had three quarterback hurries and a forced fumble… Recorded a sack and three total tackles in his final game as a Gator in the Outback Bowl against Iowa.
- 2015: Appeared in 13 games, starting 10...Named to Pro Football Focus' Second Team All-America... Totaled 29 tackles with 6.5 tackles-for-loss... Recorded a career high tying six tackles against LSU... Notched a pair of quarterback hurries during the season and recorded a sack at Missouri and South Carolina.
- 2014: Played in all 12 games and started at defensive tackle in the bowl victory over East Carolina... Totaled 21 tackles with 4.0 tackles-for-loss... Had three quarterback hurries... Forced two fumbles and recovered a fumble... Posted three-or-more tackles five times on the season, with a season-high four at Alabama.
- : Did not see any game action and redshirted... Earned Most Valuable Offensive Scout Team Award... Named to the SEC First-Year Honor Roll.

DL Bryan Cox, Jr. (6-3, 269)
- 2016: Appeared in 11 games and started five… Missed three games due to a pair of injuries… Totaled 19 tackles on the season and recorded a career-high nine stops at Tennessee… Notched six quarterback hurries and forced a fumble at Vanderbilt.
- Played in 14 games and started 13… Totaled 45 tackles on the season, including 10.5 tackles-for-loss and 3.5 sacks... Also had six quarterback hurries... Forced two fumbles and recovered two fumbles on the year... Notched career-high eight tackles against Vanderbilt.
- 2014: Played in 11 games and started 10 times at defensive end… Racked up 29 total tackles and had 6.0 tackles-for-loss with 4.0 sacks… Earned Honorable Mention CFPA Defensive Lineman of the Week honors after his performance at Tennessee, in which he totaled five tackles and 3.0 sacks… Had five games with four-or-more tackles on the year.
- 2013: Played in eight games, seeing time in the defensive line rotation…totaled five tackles, including two sacks… First career sack came at Kentucky.
- 2012: Did not see action for the Gators and redshirted.

LB Jarrad Davis (6-2, 238)
- 2016: Started nine games and totaled 60 tackles, 6.0 tackles-for-loss and had two sacks... Had four pass break-ups and five QB hurries… Despite missing four games due to a pair of injuries, Davis still finished second on the team in total tackles and fourth in quarterback hurries… After having to be helped off the field during Florida's win over Missouri due to an ankle injury, Davis defied the odds and played two weeks later against Georgia where he totaled a team-high seven tackles and two quarterback hurries… Named Sporting News and CBS Sports Second Team All-America… Garnered Second Team All-SEC honors by the league's Coaches, Athlon Sports and Gridiron Now… Named to the SEC Football Community Service Team… Selected as one of five Finalists for the Lott IMPACT Trophy, Pop Warner CFB Award, and the Butkus Award… Was one of 18 Chuck Bednarik Award Semifinalists.
- 2015: Played in 14 games and started in 12… Finished second on the team with 98 total tackles… Third on the team with 11 tackles-for-loss and had 3.5 sacks… Had seven quarterback hurries and broke up four passes, also intercepting one pass… Named Second Team All-SEC by Gridiron Now… Totaled a career high two sacks against Florida Atlantic.
- 2014: Played in nine games, making one start at linebacker, before an injury forced him to miss the final three games… Totaled 23 tackles with one tackle-for-loss… Earned the Hard Hat award for his performance against Eastern Michigan.
- 2013: True freshman enrolled in the summer and played in all 12 games, starting one game at linebacker… Named the team's Most Valuable Special Teams Player… Also served as a game captain for the Missouri and South Carolina… Key member of several special teams' units, totaling three special teams' tackles on the season… In his first career start against Georgia Southern, he totaled a season-high seven tackles, six solo… Named to the SEC First-Year Academic Honor Roll.

S Marcus Maye (6-0, 216)
- 2016: Played and started in Florida's first nine games before suffering a season-ending shoulder injury against South Carolina… Notched 50 tackles, which tied for fourth on the team, one sack, one interception and six pass breakups…. Tallied that INT against USC prior to getting hurt… Was a key member of special teams for the Gators… Named Second Team All-SEC by the AP, Athlon Sports, Gridiron Now and Pro Football Focus.
- Named a First Team All-American by USA Today and Pro Football Focus… Earned Honorable Mention All-America honors from Sports Illustrated… Named First Team All-SEC by PFF and GridIron Now and Second Team All-SEC by Athlon Sports and Phil Steele… Played in 13 games and started 12 times at safety… Racked up 82 tackles, fourth most on the team… Hard-hitter forced five fumbles, second most in the country, and recovered two… Intercepted two passes and broke up six more.
- 2014: Played in 11 games and started nine times… Played both safety and nickel positions… Totaled 62 tackles on the year, third most on the team and most among defensive backs… Recorded a team-leading 12 red zone defensive plays… Had five-or-more tackles in nine of 11 games… Named the Special Teams Player of the Game against Tennessee… Led the team in tackles against Vanderbilt (6 tackles) and East Carolina (8)… Had a career-high nine tackles against Kentucky.
- 2013: Played in all 12 games and made two starts at safety… Recorded 16 tackles on the year with 1.0 tackle-for-loss… Had his first career interception against Tennessee and returned it 30 yards…Also a key member on special teams, recording four special teams tackles on the season.

- 2016: Declared for the NFL Draft after his junior season… Started all 13 games at left tackle for the Gators… Was one of two Gators to start every game throughout the season.
- Played in all 14 games, starting 13 at left tackle.
- 2014: Played in six games as a true freshman, working his way into the offensive line rotation… Saw action at left tackle in a reserve role.

CB Teez Tabor (6-0, 201)
- 2016: Declared for the NFL Draft after his junior season… Played and started in 12 games… Totaled 33 tackles, four interceptions (one returned for a touchdown), six pass break-ups, one sack and a fumble recovery… Notched that interception returned for a touchdown against Missouri… Recorded eight interceptions during his final two seasons in Gainesville, which tied for the 14th-most among players during that span… Additionally, his three interception return touchdowns during the past two years was third most by an FBS player during that period... Ended his career with 33 pass breakups, which ranks as the sixth most all-time in program history… Named Second Team All-America by the FWAA, AFCA, CBS Sports and Sports Illustrated, while he earned Third Team All-America accolades b ye AP… Garnered First Team All-SEC honors by the league's Coaches, AP, Athlon Sports, ESPN.com and Gridiron Now… Earned Pro Football Focus Second Team All-SEC accolades.

- 2016: Declared for the NFL Draft after his junior season… Started all 13 games throughout the season and totaled 33 tackles, one sack, three interceptions (one returned for a touchdown) and six pass break-ups… Was one of two players to start every game during the season for the Gators… Notched his pick-six against Missouri, one drive after his classmate, Teez Tabor, recorded an interception return for a touchdown… Recorded a career-high nine tackles against South Carolina… Named Second Team All-SEC by the league's Coaches, AP, Athlon Sports and Gridiron Now.
- Appeared in 14 games, starting nine… Had two interceptions, five pass breakups and 19 tackles… Blanked future first round pick, Laquon Tredwell, when he was lined up against him in Florida's game against Ole Miss.
- 2014: Saw action in all 12 games as a true freshman and started twice at cornerback… Had 22 total tackles, second-most among true freshman… Recorded his first career interception with a diving snag at No. 3 Florida State that resulted in a Florida field goal… Had four tackles in three separate games.
Mel Kiper Jr. said multiple defensive backs will be taken in the first round. That would include Quincy Wilson and Jalen Tabor.
