The pair of Gators will head to Mexico July 14-24
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Incoming freshman Paige Hammons and rising sophomore Rachael Kramer will represent the United States at the upcoming FIVB U20 World Championship in Mexico (July 14-24), USA Volleyball announced Tuesday (July 12) night.
According to the release, the team was chosen from a 16-player training group, which was evaluated July 2-11 at the U.S. Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs.
The Americans qualified for this year's FIVB U20 World Championship by winning the NORCECA U20 Pan American Cup. Hammons was a member of the gold medal-winning team the U.S. fielded at the U20 Pan American Cup.

The FIVB U20 World Championship features 16 teams, opening with four pools of four teams and a round-robin format determining the top two teams from each pool. Those eight teams will be split into two pools of four teams, with the top two teams from each of those pools qualifying for medal play.
The bottom two teams from each of the four original pools are also sorted into two pools of four teams for consolation play.
Gator Great, Olympic Bronze Medalist Kelly Murphy Continues at FIVB World Grand Prix
With a team-high 47 points, Kelly Murphy led the U.S. Women's National Team to three victories, including a sweep of world No. 1 China the opening weekend (July 7-9) of the FIVB World Grand Prix.
Murphy, a four-time American Volleyball Coaches Association All-American for the Gators from 2008-11, posted a monstrous, match-high 19 points in the straight-set victory over China. The Wilmington, Ill. native racked up 16 spikes and just four errors on 29 attempts, along with three blocks, also tied for a team high.
The 2016 Olympic bronze medalist also notched a match-high 19 points in a five-set win over world No. 5 Russia—which saw the Americans take the final two sets to rally from a 2-1 deficit. Murphy totaled 15 spikes on 26 attempts and notched four blocks, tying the team high.
In a sweep of world No. 8 Italy, Murphy started all three sets and was on one of three Americans to tally at least nine points. All of Murphy's points in that 3-0 win came via spikes, leading all Americans in that category.
Murphy and Team USA face Turkey and have rematches with China and Italy this weekend's (July 14-16) FIVB World Grand Prix Preliminary Round in Macau, China.
The FIVB World Grand Prix Preliminary Round concludes in Cuiaba, Brazil (July 21-23). Championship play will be in Nanjing, China from Aug. 2-6. China and the top five finishers from the preliminary round qualify for the championship.
Team USA sits in second in the standings with eight points, trailing Serbia, which boasts nine points after sweeping each of its first three matches.
Also in U.S. Women's National Team action this year, with the help of rising senior Rhamat Alhassan, the Americans went 7-0 en route to winning the Pan American Cup last month.
