Sheppard has started 10 of 11 games this year at cornerback and has made 36 tackles on the year, 27 solo. Sheppard is second on the team with his four interceptions and is tied for sixth on the team and second amongst defensive backs with is 11 "Big Plays" (four INTs, four pass deflections, two forced fumbles and a fumble recovery). Also a dangerous kick returner, Sheppard has returned a pair of punts for TDs on the year (vs. Middle Tennessee and South Carolina) and presently leads the SEC (16th nationally) by averaging 13.9 yards for his 20 punt returns. Sheppard also averages 22.6 yards on his 12 kickoff returns. He earned a game ball for his dazzling 61-yard interception return that was the critical play in UF's 34-23 win over No. 12 Georgia at AllTel Stadium in Sheppard's hometown of Jacksonville.
