Florida Athletics Takes Transformational Step Toward The Future of The Swamp

The action marks a significant milestone in the long-envisioned evolution of The Swamp, allowing the project team to move forward with continued design, planning, and pre-construction efforts as the project advances through the formal approval process. The full project is expected to go before the University of Florida Board of Trustees in September for final approval.
The renovation is targeted for completion ahead of the 2030 football season and carries a projected investment of approximately $1.45 billion. Funding is expected to come through a combination of private giving, capital reserves, and long-term debt, through approval of the Florida Board of Governors.
The vision for the renovation is centered on preserving the defining elements that have made The Swamp legendary while elevating the overall fan experience for generations to come. Key priorities include maintaining the historic seating capacity, preserving the iconic Orange Wing Walls, and protecting the unique bowl design that has defined The Swamp. Fans will continue to sit close to the field and right on top of the action, preserving the intensity, noise, and home-field advantage that have made Ben Hill Griffin Stadium the most intimidating environment in college football.
Enhancements planned as part of the project include expanded concourses, upgraded concessions and restrooms, improved accessibility, elevated premium hospitality experiences, enhanced technology infrastructure, and state-of-the-art video and audio capabilities designed to further solidify The Swamp as the premier home field advantage in all of college football.
Florida Athletics has selected Legends Global to serve as Owner's Representative, helping guide strategic planning and project execution throughout the process. Manhattan Construction Group and Hunt Construction Group will partner as the construction management team leading the renovation effort.
