The University of Florida women's swimming and diving team (6-1, 4-1 SEC) emerged victorious in its second meet in as many days, defeating TCU 129-109 at the Rickel Center. Six Gators won seven of 13 events with freshman Nicole Bolt (Orlando, Fla./Dr. Phillips) winning the one-meter springboard, 282.30, and the three-meter springboard, 287.625, to lead the team. Additionally, Florida swept four events; the 1,000-yard freestyle, 200-yard freestyle, 200-yard butterfly and 500-yard freestyle.
Senior Sharon Rzadkowolsky (Miami, Fla./Gulliver Prep) won the 1,000-yard freestyle for the second consecutive meet with her time of 10:05.30. Freshman Jaime Ellis (Spring, Texas/Klein Oak) won the next event, the 200-yard freestyle, in 1:53.26. Fellow freshman Blair Beard (Sarasota, Fla./Sarasota) won the 200-yard butterfly in 2:09.26, the first win of her collegiate career.
Sophomores Diane Tennison (Lafayette, La./Lafayette) and Andrea Bennett (Maryville, Tenn./West High) each won their first events of the season as well. Tennison took first in the 100-yard freestyle with her time of 52.90. Bennett finished first in the 500-yard freestyle, touching the wall in 4:59.25.
The women's team will be in action again Nov. 3 at 8 p.m. ET when it returns to Dallas to compete in the first night of the SMU Women's Swimming and Diving Classic.
