Parker made four of Florida's 12 three-pointers in the game. Udonis Haslem scored 19 points for the Gators as eight players scored in double figures. The Gators jumped out to an 8-0 lead and were ahead 65-18 at the half.
"I really felt like we played from start to finish," said Gator coach Billy Donovan in his postgame radio interview. "They (the players) did the things we wanted them to do. Eight players in double figures, 125 points, to me that's the way the game is supposed to be played."
Donovan thought his backcourt played a great game. "We struggled a little bit yesterday against Rutgers, but today they came out and handled the ball well. They all had a positive turnover-to-assist ratio."
Donovan had this to say about the play of his sophomore point guard Brett Nelson. "He may not shoot the ball all the time," said Donovan, "but he's really taking his shots within the framework of the system." Nelson has made 11 of his last 19 field goal attempts and has scored 36 points in his last two games.
Jason Miles was the Rattlers' leading scorer with 13 points. Florida improved to 5-1 while FAMU fell to 2-6.
Florida's next game is against Gonzaga in the Orange Bowl Basketball Classic in Sunrise, Florida, next Saturday December 16th.
