"Brent's one of those guys that really is the catalyst to us emotionally as a team," said Gator coach Billy Donovan during his postgame radio interview. "I'm happy for him that he can get an opportunity to score the way he did tonight."
Matt Bonner hit five of Florida's 12 three-pointers. He was 5-for-5 from beyond the arc and finished with 21 points. Udonis Haslem added 20. It's the first time the Gators have had three players with 20 or more points in one game since March 1, 1989.
Donovan singled out guards Orien Green and Justin Hamilton for their unselfish play as the Gators' dished out 32 assists. "Those guys have very good vision in the open floor and really made the extra pass," said Donovan. "Orien had nine assists in the game. That was terrific."
The Gators forced the Wildcats into 25 turnovers as they won their 11th straight game against a state opponent.
The Gators are now 7-1. They will entertain American University Saturday, December 23rd at the O'Connell Center in Gainesville. Tip off is set for 4 pm eastern.
