Florida Divers Compete At NCAA Diving Zones

Florida junior diver Hank Richardson (Houston, Tex./Memorial) qualified for the NCAA Championships with his performance on the final day of the NCAA Diving Zones for Zone B at the Gabrielsen Natatorium on Saturday.
The men competed on the three-meter springboard and the platform on the meet's final day. Richardson scored 541.45 points in the three-meter competition to finish fifth. Richardson scored 383.55 points to finish 12th on the platform. Junior Reggie Coote (Fort Lauderdale, Fla./Western) finished 21st on the three meter (244.70) and 17th on the platform (338.30).
The women competed on the one-meter springboard and the platform on Saturday. Freshman Nicole Bolt (Orlando, Fla./Dr. Phillips) finished 17th on the one-meter with a score of 242.30. Senior Robyn Grimes (Pennington, N.J./Hopewell Valley Central) finished 20th on the one-meter with 234.25 points. Grimes was the only diver from the UF women's team to compete on the platform, finishing sixth with a score of 397.95. Redshirt sophomore Sarah Close (Clearwater, Fla./Dunedin/Houston) scored 228.30 points to finish 22nd on the one-meter and freshman Kristen Connor (Gainesville, Fla./Buchholz) finished 38th with 191.15 points.
The NCAA Championships for the women will be held in Long Island, N.Y. March 15-17, while the men's championships will be held March 22-24 in College Station, Texas.
