
Whitney Hite Named Assistant Coach for Team USA 2026 Pan Pacific Championships

Senior Associate Head Coach Whitney Hite was selected as a member of Team USA’s coaching staff for the 2026 Pan Pacific Championships.
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – On Monday afternoon, the Team USA coaching staff for the 2026 Pan Pacific Championships was announced. Among the coaches selected, Florida's Senior Associate Head Coach Whitney Hite was named an assistant coach for the team.
The 2026 Pan Pacific Championships will take place from August 10-15 in Irvine, Calif. The event is presented by One America Financial and will feature the Open Water 10k on August 10 and pool competition from August 12-15.
Team USA's coaching staff will be led by Bob Bowman director of swimming and diving at the University of Texas. Bowman is joined by Carol Capitani, Todd Desorbo, Dave Durden, Ray Looze, Chris Lindauer, Whitney Hite, Mohammad khadembashi and Stefani Wendelschaefer.
Hite's coaching career includes being an assistant coach for Team USA at the 2024 Paris Olympics, being the USA Swimming National Team coach (2011-16, 2018 and 2022), USA Swimming 2012 Short course World Championship men's assistant coach, USA Swimming 2015 World Championship men's assistant coach and USA Swimming 2017 World University Games men's head coach. At Florida, Hite has helped both the men's and women's teams become some of the top programs in the nation, has coached athletes who have collected more than 175 All-American honors combined and has coached numerous Olympians.
In his eighth season with the Gators, the 2025-26 season was his first as the Senior Associate Head Coach for both the men's and women's programs. This past season, Hite was able to assist in the men's program taking second place at the NCAA Championships, recording the program's best finish since 1985. The women's program came 10th overall in the NCAA Championships, marking the fourth consecutive year of top-10 finishes.
The Pan Pacific Championships will feature swimmers across the globe, from countries such as the United States, Australia, Canada and Japan. From Florida, Emma Weyant and Bobby Finke will represent Team USA in the pool.
