Men's Tennis Loses at No. 7 Tennessee, 6-1

Junior Oliver Levant was Florida's lone winner as the Gator men's tennis team lost, 6-1, to No. 7 Tennessee on Sunday afternoon in Knoxville. With the loss UF slips to 9-15 on the year and 3-8 in SEC play while the Vols improve to 16-4 overall, 9-2 in league action.
Tennessee won the doubles point to open the match. The Vols secured their doubles win when 16th ranked Mark Parsons and Adam Carey defeated 40th ranked Nathan Overholser and Jeremy Wurtzman, 8-6, at No. 1. UT had previously posted a 8-3 win at No. 3 and the No. 2 match was suspended with UT up 7-6 when the doubles point was clinched.
UT won the first three singles matches off the courts, clinching victory at No. 5 where Matt Behrmann fell to Simon Rea, 6-2, 6-1. Florida got its lone point from Levant who defeated Paul Podbury, 6-4, 6-4 at No. 3 singles.
The Gators will hold the No. 11 seed for this weekend's SEC Tournament at Lexington, Ky. The Gators will open play against sixth-seeded Alabama on Thursday. The match is set for 9:00 am. The winner will face third-seeded LSU on Friday at 9:00 am.
