Five Men's Golfers on the SEC Academic Honor Roll

Five University of Florida men's golfers were named to the 2001 SEC Men's Golf Academic Honor Roll, the SEC announced Wednesday.
Senior Nick Gilliam (Gainesville, Fla./Gainesville H.S.), a decision and information science major, was named to the honor roll for the third consecutive year. Senior Simon Lacey (North Beach, Western Australia/Carine Senior High School), a decision and information science major, and junior Camilo Benedetti (Medelin, Colombia/Instituto Jorge Robledo),a management major, were each named to the honor roll for the second time.
Sophomores Jordan Code (Tampa, Fla./Home Education Program), an accounting major, and Ricky Hooper (Coral Springs, Fla./ Coral Springs H.S.), a management major, were named for the first time.
UF's five Honor Roll selections ties for the third most this season among the SEC golf teams. To be eligible for the award, a student athlete must have a 3.0 grade point average for the past year or their career, be at least a sophomore, and have 24 semester hours toward a degree.
Florida returns to the golf course April 20-22 to try to win its 14th SEC Championship in Sea Island, Ga., at the Sea Side Golf Course. FOX Sports Net will televise a championship special Thursday, April 26 at 7 p.m.
