With this year's singles and doubles citations, Overholser raises his career number of All-SEC certificates to five. The senior from Okemos, Michigan was previously an All-SEC singles pick in 1999 and an All-SEC pick in doubles in both 1999 and 2000. Overholser is UF's career doubles wins leader with his 92 and he ranks fourth in UF history with his 175 combined wins between singles and doubles. He has battled through several injuries this year to post a 15-11 singles record overall and a 14-12 doubles mark. Overholser is presently ranked No. 25 in the nation in singles after peaking earlier this year at a career-best No. 12. He and Levant are ranked No. 14 in doubles and Overholser is ranked No. 40 with Wurtzman.
Wurtzman is the first UF freshman to be named All-SEC since Justin O'Neal in 1997. Wurtzman played at No. 1 for the balance of the dual match season when Overholser was injured and leads UF with 24 overall singles wins along with a steady 17-15 doubles mark. A native of Rochester, NY, Wurtzman is presently ranked No. 41 in the nation in singles.
Levant leads UF with 18 doubles wins on the year and is second on the team with his 22 singles wins. This is the junior's first All-SEC honor. Levant and Overholser teamed to win the ITA All-American doubles championship in October, the second leg of the collegiate grand slam. The Paris, France native is ranked No. 14 in the nation in doubles with Overholser.
Hahn, Levant and Overholser qualified for the SEC's Academic Honor Roll with majors of Social & Behavioral Sciences, Math and Management respectively. To be named to the list, a student-athlete must have a 3.0 for either the past year or their academic careers, be a sophomore or higher and have 24 semester hours towards a degree.
The Gators are ranked No. 29 in the nation but hold the No. 11 seed for the SEC Championships. The Gators open play at Kentucky's Boone Tennis Complex on April 19 at 9 am against sixth-seeded and 17th ranked Alabama.
