Gator Earns SEC Baseball Player of the Week Honors

Florida senior rightfielder Peter Nystrom (Dunedin, Fla.) was named the Southeastern Conference Baseball Player of the Week Monday by the SEC office.
Nystrom hit .579 (11-for-19) with 11 RBI, three doubles and two home runs in five games this week. He finished with a career-high four hits Friday vs. Vanderbilt and drove in four runs including the game winner on a two-RBI double in the top of the 10th inning. Nystrom also hit home runs in back-to-back games (Florida Atlantic and Vanderbilt) and registered three multi-hit and three multi-RBI games on the week.
He raised his season batting average to .359 (28-78) with seven doubles, three home runs and 23 RBI.
Florida, which also had several outstanding pitching performances on the week, won all five games and extended its winning streak to 10 games.
Auburn LHP Hayden Gliemmo was named SEC Pitcher of the Week.
