Women's Golf 10th After Day 1 At NCAA Regional

The University of Florida women's golf team is currently in 10th place after Thursday's first round of the NCAA Central Regional hosted by Purdue University. The Lady Gators shot a 312 (+24) as a team. The Lady Gators were eight over par after the front nine at 152. Host school Purdue has the lead after the tournament's opening day, shooting 295 (+7) as a team.
Sophomore Brittany Straza (Fort Myers, Fla./Lehigh) leads the squad with a three-over par 75, good for a tie for 15th place. Straza was at even-par after the first nine holes of the day. Freshman Amanda Dick (Clearwater, Fla./Countryside) , who led the team at the SEC Championships, is currently tied for 28th with a five-over par 77. Sophomore Jeanne Cho (Boulogne, France/St. Stepehen's Episcopal School) was one-over par after the front nine, but finished the day at six-over par 78, good for a 36th place tie. Red shirt freshman Joy Stephenson (Fort Myers, Fla./Fort Myers) shot a 10-over 82 to place her in a tie for 81st after the opening round. Sophomore Sam Zausner White (Rockville, Md./The Bullis School) fired a 14-over 86 and is tied for 98th place after the first round.
Stacy Prammanasudh from Tulsa is the leading individual in the tournament. She shot a 70 (-2) for the first day of the regional.
The top eight teams from each of the three regionals advance to the NCAA Championships in Howey-in-the-Hills, Fla. May 23-26. The tournament's second round will begin Friday morning, with the Lady Gators set to tee off at 7:30 a.m. Central Time.
