Team Awards Announced at Banquet

The Gator softball team celebrated its fifth consecutive post-season appearance at the annual awards banquet presented by the Gators On Deck booster club Sunday, May 6 at the University of Florida Hotel and Conference Center. Coach Karen Johns presented three awards.
The defensive MVP honor went to senior first baseman Ashley Boone, who leads all SEC first base players with a .994 fielding percentage. Sophomore third baseman Jenn Mossadeghi was named the offense MVP. Mossadeghi is batting .320 and has a team-best four home runs. The Coaches' Award went to junior right fielder Katy Berger. Berger was selected for her work ethic, contributions on and off of the field, and her positive attitude.
Additionally, Boone and seniors Emily Marino and Renise Landry gave a look back at their careers. The Gators On Deck Booster Club presented the banquet and a highlight video. Nearly 75 fans, players, coaches, and family and staff members attended.
