New Gatorzone Design To Launch

The University of Florida has redesigned its official athletic website, Gatorzone.com , which includes new features and web servers.
"The new design and servers will allow users to download the site much faster and brings the look of the site more up-to-date, " said Mark McCauley, Gatorzone.com Web Manager for Clear Channel Sports, the university's partner for Gatorzone.com. "The navigation is also improved with prominent tabs on the top of the home page for more popular areas of the site, and we've added some great new features, including new ways to pull up schedules and a cross-functional tool for TV and radio listings."
Gatorzone.com is entering its third full season as the official website of the Florida Gators and averages about two million page views per month, with a peak of three million page views in September of 2000. "The site has really grown over the past two years, not only in terms of user traffic, but in content, features and the ways in which users interact with the site," said McCauley.
One of the areas of Gatorzone.com that has been improved within the past year is ticket information. Tickets to Gator athletic events are always in high demand, and Gatorzone.com has become one of the primary ways that fans now find out about ticket availability and ordering. Fans can learn about ticket availability, download order forms and receive email updates on tickets for special events and tournaments.
Last May, Gatorzone.com added a site for the Skybox and Club Seat Addition project at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium, home to the Florida Gator football team. The $50 million renovation of the stadium's west side will add 28 skyboxes, 2,900 club seats as part of the Champions Club, and a new press box.
"The new site allows fans to see a before-and-after fly-through of the project, in addition to viewing a slide show of each phase of the construction," said McCauley. "We even have new photos updated regularly on the project's progress."
Anyone interested in inquiring about club seat tickets may fill out a form on the site and email it directly to the University Athletic Association.
