One Gator Advances at MTen SEC Indoors

Magallan, an All-Big 12 transfer from Kansas, advanced onward in his first SEC competition but at the expense of defeating his teammate Chris McDonald, 7-6 (8), 6-3. Next up for Magallan is second-seeded Bo Hodge of Georgia in Saturday’s Round of 16.
Three Gators lost to high seeds. Both Hamid Mirzadeh and Olivier Levant fought to a third set before falling to Peter Handoyo of Tennessee and Romain Ambert of Mississippi State, respectively. Ross Greenstein was over- matched, 6-0, 6-3 by eighth-ranked and top-seeded Brandon Wagner of Georgia. Trey Johnson and Matt Behrmann also fell in the second round of the main draw. Meanwhile, Troy Hahn and Ryan Sherry both fell in the opening round of the consolation draw on Friday.
The in addition to Magallan’s Round of 16 singles match, the Levant- Magallan doubles team will continue play on Saturday as well in Lexington, participating in the doubles quarterfinals.
