After a successful week at the Icy Hot/Intercollegiate Tennis Association Men's All-American Championships, the University of Florida men's tennis team run came to an end on Friday.
Troy Hahn and Matt Behrmann teamed up to get through doubles prequalifying and qualifying to earn a spot in the main draw. From there, the two made it into the quarterfinals where they met up with Richard Barker and William Barker of Rice, who topped the Gator duo, 8-5. Olivier Levant and Eleazar Magallan also competed in doubles, but dropped their match to sixth-seeded Robert Kowalczyk and Balazs Veress of California, 8-5. Before going on to be eliminated in the consolation bracket by Texas' Ryan Haymond and Alastair Jenkin of Texas (8-3).
Levant, who was also in action in the singles consolation bracket on Friday, did make it past his first opponent of the day with a 6-4, 7-5 decision over Karim Benmansour of Kentucky. Levant would go on to face K.C. Corkery from Stanford as Corkery won the match 7-6(6), 6-4. Hahn also competed in the singles consolation draw against Vanderbilt's Chad Harris who won by a score of 6-3, 7-6(7).
