UF Women's Golf in Ninth at TRW Regional Challenge

The University of Florida Lady Gator golf team finished ninth with a 308 Monday in the first round of the 2002 TRW Regional Challenge. The University of Tulsa leads the 18-team field with its first-round total of 283.
Junior Jeanne Cho (Bradenton, Fla.) finished the first round in a tie for 16th place after shooting a four-over-par 75 on the day. Sophomore Amanda Dick (Clearwater, Fla.) carded a 76 to finish tied for 24th place. Other individual finishes for the Lady Gators were Joy Stephenson (Ft. Myers, Fla.) in a tie for 41st with a 78 and Whitney Code (Tampa, Fla.) and Brittany Straza (Ft. Myers, Fla.) in a tie for 51st with 79 to finish Day One.
Florida will be in the first groups to tee off Tuesday, beginning with Straza at 9 a.m. Pacific time. The final round of the tournament will take place Wednesday.
