Men's Tennis Doubles Team Advances In Qualifying

The University of Florida doubles tandem of senior Trey Johnson and junior Vladimir Obradovic advanced to the quarterfinals in an effort to qualify for the National Indoor Championships in qualifying rounds Saturday in Memphis, Tenn.
In the Round of 16, Johnson and Obradovic defeated Central Florida's Catalin Bradu and Antonio Sierra (8-2) after disposing of Alabama-Birmingham's Sanzaruz Zaman and Ruben Zrihen (8-6) earlier in the afternoon in the Round of 32.
Johnson and Obradovic (5-3) will meet 5th-ranked Bo Hodge and John Isner of Georiga in the quarterfinals Sunday at 5 p.m.
In singles action, Obradovic fell to No. 11 Romain Ambert of Mississippi State in the Round of 32 in straight sets (6-3; 6-2). Sophomore Stefan Tell also dropped his match in the Round of 32 to 49th-ranked Gabor Zoltan Pelva of Auburn 7-5, 6-1.
Freshman Marty Stiegwardt was also defeated in the Round of 32, falling to No. 67 Matias Ormaza of Georgia (6-2; 6-4).
