Tammy Jackson Honored as SEC Great at Tournament

Former University of Florida basketball star Tammy Jackson will be recognized during the 2003 SEC Women's Basketball Tournament.
Each of the 12 institutions selected an SEC Great to be honored at a breakfast hosted by Worldspan at the Little Rock Club on Friday, March 7 from 8 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. The "Greats" also will be recognized at halftime of their institution's first game (Florida plays Vanderbilt on Thursday beginning at 9:30 p.m. ET) and as a group between Game 1 and Game 2 at the Alltel Arena.
The "Greats" will participate in an autograph session on the Concourse level of the arena during Game 2 and then be transported to the Dr. Pepper/SEC Fanfare for an additional autograph session.
Tammy Jackson, who played for the Gators from 1982 to 1985, graduated as Florida's all-time leading scorer with 1,895 career points, averaging 17.1 points per game during her four-year career. Jackson became UF's first basketball Olympian, representing Team USA in 1992. She has since played professionally overseas and in the WNBA with the Houston Comets since the league's inception in 1997.
