Gators Wrap Up Play In Southern Intercollegiate

Three members of the University of Florida men's tennis team were in action on Sunday at the 2003 Southern Intercollegiate Championships held in Athens, GA.
In the Division II Singles Consolation Championship Quarterfinals, UF's Chris Brandi was defeated by South Carolina's Carl Wermee (6-4, 3-6, 1-0 (7)). Meanwhile in an all Florida quarterfinal, Jordan Dolberg defeated teammate Ryan Sherry (6-4, 6-0). Sherry went on to play Wermee in a match that turned into the championship round when the players in the upper half of the bracket withdrew. Wermee won the match (6-4, 2-6, 1-0 (6)).
Brandi and Dolberg paired in the Division II Doubles Consolation Quarterfinals against fifth-seeded Alex Bucewicz and Martin Tamla of Memphis. Bucewicz and Tamla defeated the UF duo, 8-4.
The Southern Intercollegiate Championships will conclude on Monday.
