Mirzadeh Advances To Quarterfinals At SEC Indoors

University of Florida All-American Hamid Mirzadeh kept his streak of success going at the 2004 Southeastern Conference Men's Indoor Tennis Championships in Athens, GA, on Saturday as he made his way into the quarterfinals with a win over Alabama's Stephen Mitchell (4-6, 6-1, 6-2).
Mirzadeh, who is ranked 24th in the country, will move on to play Mississippi State's Romain Ambert, who is the tournament's top seed, at 10 a.m. on Sunday. Ambert entered the tournament ranked fourth in the country.
In addition, Mirzadeh was a member of the Florida doubles team, which advanced on Saturday as he and teammate Chris Brandi made it to the Round of 16 where they dropped an 8-5 decision to Georgia's top-seeded and fifth-ranked Bo Hodge and John Isner.
