Mirzadeh Falls Short In Finals Bid At SEC Indoors

University of Florida All-American Hamid Mirzadeh scored one upset on Sunday before falling short in his bid for a spot in the 2004 Southeastern Conference Men's Indoor Tennis Singles Championship in Athens, GA, on Sunday.
Mirzadeh started the day with a straight-set (6-2, 6-3) victory over Mississippi State's Romain Ambert, who is ranked fourth in the country and is the tournament's top seed. In the semifinals, Mirzadeh faced Vanderbilt's 55th-ranked Chad Harris and dropped a 6-0, 7-5 decision.
Florida will begin its dual match season on Friday, Jan. 23 as the Gators host The Citadel. The match is set to begin at 5 p.m.
