Friday, October 15, 2004 | Women's Tennis
The University of Florida women's tennis team will begin play at the University of Miami Fall Classic on Saturday, Oct. 16. The event begins on Friday, however to reduce the amount of missed class time, UF head coach Roland Thornqvist opted to skip Friday's play and begin competition at the individual tournament Saturday morning at the Neil Schiff Tennis Center.
The format for the tournament is a hidden dual match instead of a draw setup. Representing UF in Coral Gables will be Boglarka Berecz, Alex Liles and Nina Suvak. The trio will pair with players from FAU on Saturday to face Miami doubles teams in the morning and battle athletes from FIU in singles. On Sunday, the Gators again team with FAU to face Vanderbilt doubles teams and later the Commodores in singles.
