Men's Basketball Drops Game To Kentucky

Anthony Roberson scored 22 points and sank six three-pointers, but Florida couldn't overcome a second half offensive barrage as No. 9 Kentucky defeated the Gators, 82-62, Sunday afternoon before a crowd of 24,065 at Rupp Arena.
After the Wildcats led 35-26 at the half, Kentucky hit 6-of-12 three-pointers in the second half and used an early 17-0 run to take control of the game. The win for Kentucky (23-4 overall, 13-3 Southeastern Conference) was the sixth consecutive against Florida (18-9, 9-7) and the eighth in the last nine for the Wildcats.
David Lee and Matt Walsh also scored in double figures for the Gators with Lee chipping in 17 points and Walsh adding 12.
The Gators were on top 13-12 with 10:53 remaining in the first half, but Kentucky went on a 19-4 run to take a 31-17 advantage before Florida crawled back within nine at the break. Roberson, who picked up two early fouls and played just six minutes in the first half, and Walsh combined for five first half points, but scored 29 in the second.
Lee helped keep Florida in the game in the first half, scoring 12 of his points on 3-for-3 shooting from the field and by going 6-for-6 from the free throw line.
Roberson narrowed Kentucky's lead to six points with a trey early in the second half before the Wildcats engineering the game-clinching run.
