MT&F Off to Good Start at Texas Relays

University of Florida freshman Kerron Clement was the top qualifier in the 400m hurdles preliminaries Thursday at the 77th Annual Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays.
Clement won his heat of the 400m hurdles in 49.94 to notch the top overall qualifying time. Dwight Ruff also advanced to the finals, clocking in at 52.36 to finish seventh in the preliminaries. Rickey Harris also competed in the event but did not finish after falling at the 10th hurdle.
Antonio Emperator finished 18th in the hammer throw with a personal-best mark of 57.94m/190-1. That mark improves Emperator's third-place mark in school history.
The Texas Relays continue through Saturday.
