Sunshine To Air "Above The Rim Classics" This Summer

Sunshine Network will premiere "Above The Rim Classics" on Monday, June 7, a summer showcase that will include memorable Florida college basketball games. The contests are part of Sunshine's popular "Summer Classics" series which debuted last year.
Each game will include "pop-ups" during the telecast, which include updates on where key players and coaches are now, how teams ended their seasons, and historical facts and figures related to each game. The series will be hosted by Sunshine's primary studio anchor Whit Watson, who will introduce each game.
Sunshine Network reaches more than 6.4 million homes across Florida via cable and satellite and has agreements with more than a dozen regional teams/properties including the University of Florida.

In a game that featured 13 ties and lead changes in the final 10 minutes, Tedd Dupay hit two free throws with 16 seconds left, and Mike Miller scored 25, as the Gators held on to beat Alabama 77-73.
7/5/04, 8 p.m. Florida at Auburn (1/24/01)
Auburn's Marquis Daniels misses a shot at the buzzer allowing the Gators to pull out the 65-63 victory. Udonis Haslem leads the way for Florida with 26 points and Brett Nelson scores 17.
7/19/04, 8 p.m. Florida vs. Miami (2002 Orange Bowl Classic, 12/21/02)
Justin Hamilton hits a free throw with six seconds remaining to help the Gators to a 94-93 win. Five Gators score in double figures helping to offset the 32 points scored by Miami's Darius Rice.
8/2/04, 8 p.m. Florida at Vanderbilt (2/22/03)
Anthony Roberson hits a runner that sends the game into OT with 4.7 seconds left, and Matt Walsh scores 4 of his team-high 19 points in the extra session to preserve the 77-74 Gator win.
8/16/04, 8 p.m. Mississippi State at Florida (2/4/98)
The Gators pull out an overtime victory over the Bulldogs 82-78, after MSU hit a three-pointer at the end of regulation to send the game into the extra session. Jason Williams and Greg Stolt led the way for Florida with 18 points apiece.
