"I chose Florida because of the family atmosphere, the quality of academics and having the ability to work on softball all year," Waleszonia said. "UF is an all-around great university and very welcoming. Being a Gator means that I am part of a family of tradition and pride, striving together for success in the classroom and on the field. In my time at Florida I hope to win a SEC Championship, a World Series Championship and earn my degree."
"Spack is a very well rounded athlete and will be able to help us in many areas on defense," Head Coach Karen Johns said.
Spack's success also carries into the classroom, as she is an honor roll student and has earned numerous academic accolades. In addition to playing softball, she also played one year of varsity volleyball and two years of varsity basketball. Spack is the daughter of Brock and Aimee Spack. Her father is the defensive coordinator and linebackers coach at Purdue University. He was also a second-team All-America linebacker for the Boilermakers.
