
Seven Gators Named To All-SEC Teams

LEXINGTON, Ky. – Seven Florida softball players earned spots on the 2026 All-Southeastern Conference teams, the conference released on Friday afternoon.
Jocelyn Erickson, Keagan Rothrock, Townsen Thomas and Taylor Shumaker earned First Team honors, while Cassidy McLellan and Kenleigh Cahalan were Second Team selections.
Gabi Comia also represented the Gators on the All-Defensive Team at second base, a first-time honor for the sophomore.
Florida's four First Team selections matched a league high.
The All-SEC Teams consist of 25 student-athletes on the First Team, 26 student-athletes on the Second Team, and a nine-member All-Defensive Team. All awards were chosen by the league's head coaches, and no ties were broken.
McLellan and Thomas are both first time-All SEC honorees. Shumaker is a First Team selection for the second season in a row, Erickson was a 2024 All-SEC First Team selection, while Rothrock and Cahalan were each Second Team selections in 2024.
Townsen Thomas – Outfield – Redshirt Freshman
- All-SEC First Team
- Batted .372 in conference play, second-highest for Florida, with six doubles, a triple and three home runs
- Tallied 10 multi-hit and six multi-RBI games
- Ranked in the top-10 in the conference in hits (19), doubles (6) and batting average (.372)
- Two-time SEC Freshman of the Week (March 17 and April 22)
- Had the walk-off RBI to secure Mississippi State series on April 5
Taylor Shumaker – Outfield – Sophomore
- All-SEC First Team
- 2026 USA Softball Player of the Year Top-25 Finalist
- Batted a team-best .382 in conference play with four doubles, three home runs, 11 RBIs and a team-high 16 walks and 24 runs
- Ranked in the top-10 in the SEC in batting average (.382), on-base percentage (.490), runs scored (24) and hits (29)
- Led the Gators with 11 multi-hit games with three multi-RBI games
- Two-time SEC Player of the Week (March 3 and March 24)
Keagan Rothrock – Pitcher – Junior
- All-SEC First Team
- 2026 USA Softball Player of the Year Top-25 Finalist
- Posted a 13-4 record in conference play, second-most victories in the SEC
- Recorded 82 strikeouts with a .204 opposing batting-average, who both ranked fifth in the conference
- Led the SEC in innings pitched (108.7)
- Tossed a no-hitter at South Carolina on April 10
- Named SEC Pitcher of the Week and NFCA Pitcher of the Week on April 14
Jocelyn Erickson – Catcher/First Base – Senior
- All-SEC First Team
- 2026 USA Softball Player of the Year Top-25 Finalist
- Batted .299 in SEC play with 18 runs, six doubles, eight home runs, 27 RBIs and 14 walks
- Ranked in the top-10 in the SEC in home runs (8), RBIs (27) slugging percentage (.735), doubles (6) and OPS (29.617)
- Recorded a team-high seven multi-RBI games and five multi-hit games
Cassidy McLellan – Outfield – Junior
- All-SEC Second Team
- Batted .345 in SEC play with four doubles, five home runs, 18 RBIs and 11 walks
- Tallied six multi-hit and four multi-RBI games
- Matched her career-best of five RBIs at South Carolina on April 11
Kenleigh Cahalan – Shortstop – Senior
- All-SEC Second Team
- Batted .278 in SEC play with five home runs, four doubles, 14 RBIs, seven walks and 15 runs
- Held a .990 fielding percentage in SEC play, committing just one error in 24 games. Helped turn 8 doubles plays with 56 assists
- Hit the game-winning two-run home run vs. Mississippi State (April 3)
- Recorded four multi-hit and four multi-RBI games
Gabi Comia – Second Base – Sophomore
- All-SEC Defensive Team
- Held a perfect fielding percentage in SEC play in 87 chances with 36 assists
- Helped turn a team-high nine double plays
