Swimmers Conclude 2005 U.S. World Championship Trials

The University of Florida men's and women's swimming teams closed out the 2005 United States World Championship Trials at the IU Natatorium on Wednesday morning with only one swimmer taking part in the final day's competition.
Freshman Kim Larson (Longwood, Fla.) was the only Gator to compete in the final day of competition as she recorded a 15th-place effort in the 1500-meter freestyle by touching the wall in a time of 17:14.27.
Over the six-day competition junior Ryan Lochte (Daytona Beach, Fla.) amassed 81 total points to finish second behind Michael Phelps' 100-point output in the individual points race.
Florida Head Coach Gregg Troy will join Lochte and freshman Caroline Burckle (Louisville, Ky.) in Montreal at this summer's World Championships as Troy will be an assistant coach for the U.S. men's team.
The 11th FINA World Swimming Championships will run from July 24-31, in Montreal, Canada.
