Lochte Sets Personal Best At World Swimming Championships

Senior Ryan Lochte (Daytona Beach, Fla.) ended the FINA World Swimming Championships on Sunday in Montreal by setting a new personal record in the 400-meter individual medley to claim fifth.
Hungary's Laszlo Cseh (4:09.63) set a fast pace early and led the race from start to finish.
Lochte remained close, trailing by 26-tenths of a second at the 250-meter mark to finish with a 4:13.67. His pervious best was 4:16.80 at the 2003 Pan Am Games.
Lochte also set new personal best times in the 200 IM on Thursday (1:57.79) to finish third. He finished third again on Friday in the 200 backstroke with a personal best 1:57.00.
