Ouellette Advances To Semifinals At ITA Region III Tennis Tournament

University of Florida men's tennis junior Greg Ouellette (No. 26) advanced to the semifinals of the ITA Region III Tournament with a pair of wins in Lexington, KY Sunday.
Ouellette, who has won each of his singles matches in straight sets at the event, started the day with a 6-2, 6-2 victory against Ole Miss' Bram ten Berge (No. 97). In the quarterfinal round, Ouellette slipped past Tennessee's Davey Sandgren (No. 116) in the first set 7-6 (3) before taking the second 6-2 to advance.
With the wins, Ouellette faces Mississippi State's Ivan Bjelica (No. 42) in Monday's semifinal. The other semifinal match features Georgia's Travis Helgeson (No. 5) and Alabama's Joseph Jung (No. 35).
Action continues at the event through Monday as players from around the country compete to earn a trip to the ITA Regional Indoor Championships next month in Columbus, OH.
