Ouellette Advances At ITA National Intercollegiate Indoor Championships

University of Florida men's tennis senior Greg Ouellette (Ormond Beach) opened play at the ITA National Indoor Intercollegiate Indoor Championships with a straight-set win over Oklahoma State's Ivan Puchkarov on Thursday at the Racquet Club of Columbus, Ohio.
Ouellette, who is ranked 10th nationally defeated Puchkarov (15th), 6-4, 6-2, to move into the Round of 16, which is scheduled for Friday as are the quarterfinal matches.
The event, which is being hosted by Ohio State for the third consecutive season, is the second of three national championships during the 2007-08 collegiate tennis season. The other two are the ITA All-America Championships held earlier this year and the season-ending NCAA Championships in May. At the first national championship, Ouellette advanced to the semifinals. A year ago at this event, Ouellette fell in the opening round before advancing to the quarterfinals of the consolation draw.
