“The courses we had to play on this week were really different from college courses,” Myers said. “The courses we had to play were different in terms of shape and condition. It was shorter than what I'm used to. I had to really stress discipline. Overall, I did ok but I wish I would have done better with the courses I was playing but I'm happy with where I'm at. I think of it as another tournament and I wanted to go there and do my best and try to win because we're playing against professionals and amateurs.”
Myers equaled her four-round score of 292 (+4) to that of five others including former Florida standout Andrea VanderLende and former 2005 NCAA Championships medalist Anna Grzebien from Duke.
The senior's success in Lakeland catalyzes what has been a breakout season for Myers. She closed out her fall campaign second on the team in scoring average (73.2) and tied the school's lowest round with a 67 at the Wildcat Fall Invitational en route to a season-best fifth-place finish. She capped the fall slate with three-consecutive top-15 performances.
“It gives me a lot of confidence going into the spring season,” Myers added. “I think we've been playing pretty well, but my goal is to help the team win SEC's and do well at the NCAA Championships.”
