Yadloczky fired an even par in her final round, finishing just two strokes behind medalist and 2006 English Stroke Play champion Liz Bennett.
Bennett was able to keep pace with Yadloczky's last flurry, scoring a par on her last round. She bounced back from a second-round tally and ended the event with back-to-back rounds of even par. Yadloczky said she struggled on the front nine but shifted into high gear on the back nine.
“After the front nine, I was as much as four strokes back,” Yadloczky said. “I finished one over on the front and I struggled a little bit with one birdie but the back nine comes along and I got things going. I had two chances for eagle that lipped out, one on (hole) seven and one on (hole) 12. I had three birdies on the back and tried to give her a run for her money.”
Having competed in the rotation for all five events during the fall season, the freshman enjoyed the awards ceremony where she received hardware to place above her locker at the Mark Bostick Golf Course.
“I got one of the biggest trophies I have,” Yadloczky said. “It's a large crystal bowl.”
Senior Tiffany Chudy (Miramar, Fla.) fired a final round of 80 after starting final-round play in a tie for seventh. Chudy finished 13th with a four-round total of 299.
The Gator women's golf team opens its spring season Feb. 11-13 at the Northrop Grumman Regional Challenge in Palos Verdes, Calif.
