Gators battle elements, lead into final 18-holes in Tallahassee

A 9-hour round that featured three weather delays, Florida is 5-under and owns a one-shot lead over host Florida State.
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – After lengthy weather delays that totaled over five-and-half-hours, the No. 3 ranked and No. 1 seed Florida women's golf team battled the elements and lead at 5-under into the final 18-holes tomorrow at the NCAA Tallahassee Regional on Tuesday.
Today's start was originally delayed two hours due to rain overnight and lightning in the area this morning, play was again suspended during the round due to lightning at 12:25 p.m. Heavy rain began during the delay and the mixture of that and lightning delayed play until 3:05 p.m. Then with a handful of holes remaining, a heavy downpour entered for a 45-minute pause as Florida wrapped up the day after 9-hours at Seminole Legacy Golf Club.
Florida shot a second round of 288 (E) to produce a 36-hole score of 571 (-5) and own a one-shot lead over host Florida State. The top-5 teams feature Wake Forest (+2), Eastern Michigan (+4) and Louisiana-Monroe (+5). A shot outside the final championship spot is No. 15 UCLA at +8. After 54-holes, the top-5 teams and low individual on a non-advancing team, earn a spot into the NCAA National Championships at Omni La Costa Resort & Spa in Carlsbad, Calif. from May 22-27.
A victory tomorrow for UF, would be the sixth win this season and the fourth regional title in program history – 2008, 2016 & 2017. Also Florida will look to set is program record by par at NCAA Regionals, which is 7-under in 2016.
UF was led by freshman and Gainesville native Katelyn Huber, who shot a 4-under 68. She made the turn 4-under and bogey-free while reaching 5-under and bogey-free in her first 11 holes. Huber climbed up 18 spots into T4.
The next three counting scores featured Paula Francisco and Elaine Widjaja with 73s (+1) and Siuue Wu a 74 (+2). Francisco's round of 73, ended her streak of 10 straight under par rounds as it was her first since February 17th in the final round of the Moon Golf Invitational
