Men's Tennis Continues Play at SEC Indoors

The University of Florida men's tennis team continued play at the Southeastern Conference Coaches' Indoor Championships Saturday at the Hilton in New Orleans. The day was highlighted by two Gator doubles teams advancing to the quarterfinals and two players advancing to the same round of their respective draws in singles play.
In doubles play, Jeff Dadamo and Tyler Hochwalt teamed to defeat South Carolina's Diego Cubas and Yevgeny Supeko, 9-8 (5). In addition, Johnny Hamuii and Greg Ouellette defeated Alabama's Andrew Felsenthal and Houssam Yassine, 8-0. Both of UF's doubles teams will continue play Sunday.
On the singles courts, Ouellette (No. 8) started the day with a three-set victory over Georgia's 67-ranked Jamie Hunt (4-6, 7-6 (3), 6-4). Following that, he was defeated by Tennessee's 93rd-ranked John Patrick Smith in the quarterfinals, 6-3, 6-4.
Florida newcomer Erik Corace also won his round of 16 match as he knocked off LSU's Sebastian Carlsson, who was the fifth-seed in the B draw (6-4, 6-4). However, Corace dropped his quarterfinal match against Georgia's second-seeded Javier Garrapiz (6-3, 6-3).
Sophomore Dan Cash rounded out the list of UF winners as he defeated South Carolina's Jamie Cuellar, 6-3, 6-3, in the singles B draw consolation match.
