Friday, October 24, 2008 | Football
With Mr. Two-Bits, George Edmondson, to be honored in a special pre-game ceremony, all Gator fans are being asked to arrive early and wear orange for this Saturday's Homecoming clash between fifth-ranked Florida and Kentucky at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium. Kickoff is at 12:30 p.m.
The 86-year-old Edmondson, who has led his famous cheer at Gator games for 60 years, will retire from his Mr. Two-Bits' role at the end of the season. The Gators have planned a special tribute for Mr. Two-Bits before Saturday's Homecoming game, and fans should be in their seats by 12:10 p.m. to join in the celebration.
In addition, the first 5,000 UF students in the stadium receive coupons to be entered into a random drawing to win the following prizes:
Grand Prize: One student winner receives two tickets to the Florida-Georgia football game in Jacksonville on Nov. 1
Second Prize: Four student winners participate in the Gator Walk versus South Carolina on Nov. 15
Third Prize: Two student winners win two seats each to sit in the skybox at The Citadel game on Nov. 22
